What is KlarvoEngine?

KlarvoEngine is Klarvo's regulatory intelligence engine. It analyses your AI system through a 3-pass classification pipeline and produces an article-cited compliance memo with obligations, deadlines, and recommended controls — in under 60 seconds.

What is the EU AI Act?

The EU AI Act (Regulation 2024/1689) is the world's first comprehensive AI regulation. It classifies AI systems by risk level and imposes obligations on providers and deployers of AI systems operating in the EU.

Any organisation that provides or deploys AI systems affecting people in the EU — regardless of where the organisation is based. This includes websites with AI chatbots, companies using AI analytics, and businesses integrating AI models into their products.

Prohibited AI practices have been enforceable since February 2025. GPAI model obligations since August 2025. Article 50 transparency and most remaining obligations apply from August 2, 2026.

What are the penalties?

Up to €35 million or 7% of global turnover for prohibited practices. Up to €15 million or 3% for transparency and other violations. For SMEs, the penalty is whichever amount is lower.

Is there really a free plan?

Yes. 1 AI system, full classification, evidence vault (1 GB), and watermarked exports. No credit card, no trial expiry. You keep your data permanently.

What happens after the 14-day Growth trial?

You keep all your data. Premium features (approvals, auditor links, unlimited exports) become locked. You can continue on Free or upgrade to any paid plan.

Do I need the main platform if I just want Article 50 transparency?

No. The Klarvo AI Transparency WordPress plugin works completely standalone — no Klarvo account needed. The main platform is for broader compliance: inventory, classification, evidence, and FRIA.

Yes, upgrade or downgrade any time. Changes take effect immediately. Annual plans are billed upfront with ~17% savings.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards via Stripe. Pricing is in EUR with Stripe Adaptive Pricing for local currency conversion.

What counts as an "AI system"?

An AI system is one distinct AI use-case that needs its own classification, controls, and evidence pack. If the same tool is used for different purposes (e.g., HR screening and credit decisions), that's typically more than one AI system.

Do you charge per user?

No. Paid plans include unlimited users because compliance requires cross-functional collaboration.

Do you provide legal advice?

No. The platform helps you organise workflows, evidence, and templates. For legal interpretation, you should consult qualified counsel.

Can we delete our data?

Yes. You can export your records and request deletion in line with your contract terms.

SSO is included in Enterprise (and can be offered as an add-on if you want). Most SMEs start without it.

Is there a discount for annual billing?

Yes—annual plans include ~2 months free.

Do retired systems count toward limits?

No. Only active systems count (Draft, Pilot, Live). Retired/Archived systems don't.

Can we manage multiple companies or subsidiaries?

That's Enterprise (multi-workspace). Partner Mode is available for consultants/agencies managing multiple client workspaces.

What security measures do you have?

We maintain audit logs and secure evidence storage. Enterprise customers can request additional security documentation during procurement.

What are the Provider, Importer, and Distributor tracks?

These are add-on modules for organisations with specific EU AI Act roles. Importer/Distributor Track covers verification checklists for market access. Provider Track includes full conformity assessment, technical documentation, and CE marking workflows.
